We are very happy to announce that the winner of the 2012 Shisnedai Audience Award is Shinpei Takeda's documentary feature Hiroshima Nagasaki Download. This film, which chronicles a group of hibakusha (survivors of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki) and their lives in North America, was a universal hit with its audience during the fourth day of the festival. The $1,000 Candian prize that comes with the Shinsedai Audience Award will go to director Shinpei Takeda to aid him in future filmmaking projects.
It was a tight race for the Audience Award though, and we would like to announce that Daisuke Miyazaki's neo-noir hitman drama End of the Night was given an Honorable Mention Award from our audience.
